Combourg is a delightful quiet old market town set in the countryside.

Your first impression as you near the town will be of the beautiful fairytale chateau on the hilltop, skirted by the houses and overlooking the enormous lake. This chateau was the childhood home of the romatic writer Chateaubriand.

The fruit and vegetable market is on Monday.
