Dinard became fashionable in the 30's. Many famous names resided in Dinard including Lawrence of Arabia and Alfred Hitchcock. The beaches are lined with stripped tents and bordered by promenades. The impressive Gothic mansions which line the coastal walks were Hitchcocks inspiration for the house featured in "phyco" but don't be scared, Dinard is a lovely seaside town.
Dinard is also known also as the "Cannes of the North" as it hosts the Brittsh Film Festival in the early days of October every year.
For romatic couples, take the "promeade de clair de la lune" (full moon walk) along the coast and enjoy the music as you go.
The fruit and vegetable market is on every morning.
For the children there are lovely sandy beaches and the "Grand Aquarium" is just outside the town on the way to St. Malo.
